Practioner
The Practitioner is an advocate registered at the Sudanese Bar Association and a trademark agent listed in the Sudanese Trademark Agents Registry. Having worked for many years at law firms as well as an in-house counsel, the Practitioner is well-versed with the requirements of both sides of the legal practice.
The Practitioner has substantial experience in IP and trademark prosecution and litigation, including but not limited to trademark pre-filing advice, clearance of trademarks, filing and prosecuting trademark applications until registration, oppositions and appeals of trademark rejection decisions, cancelation and invalidation of trademarks as well as drafting and advising on IP aspects of commercial contracts.
In addition, the Practitioner has considerable experience in set up of companies and advising on appropriate company structure, advising on corporate governance and legal secretarial issues, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts such as non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, advertising agreements, supply agreements, service agreements, agency and distribution agreements, lease agreements, terms and conditions of sale/ purchase.
Prior to starting her practice, the Practitioner worked in Dubai, UAE in the regional offices of JCDecaux Middle East FZ-L.L.C, Rouse & Co International Limited (Dubai Branch) and United Trade Marks and Patent Services.
The Practitioner is a holder of law degree from University of Sharjah, UAE and was one of two honors graduates in her batch. She is fluent in Arabic and English and holds qualification in translation from David Game College London.
The Practitioner has studied both the Sudanese and UAE laws and has a remarkable academic achievement in both. Her training and experience working for international companies with focus on the MENA region enable her to provide a high standard of advice and legal expertise in each case.
